Last week videos went viral of a chemical attack in Syria that claimed 72 lives. Following the attack President Trump made the decision to launch 59 cruise missiles at a Syrian government air base he alleged was involved in the horrific attacks. It was a hard decision and, according to son Eric Trump, one that was heavily influenced by his family members.
On Monday Eric told The Daily Telegraph that the president’s decision was swayed by his daughter, Ivanka, who was “heartbroken and outraged” by what had occurred in Syria.
“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric Trump said, “I’m sure she said, ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’ My father will act in times like that.”
Eric said the president himself was “deeply affected” by the images and videos of the attacks in Syria, especially on the children.
“It was horrible. These guys are savages and I’m glad he responded the way he responded,” Eric said of his father.
