A poll published by CNN this Wednesday showed that Melania’s approval ratings are significantly higher than they were at the time of inauguration. Actually, her ratings are so high, they surpass her husbands.
52 percent of Americans now have a favorable view of the first lady. This rating has jumped 16 points since January. 32 percent of people still view her unfavorably, this rating has stayed nearly consistent with the 31 percent it was at pre-inauguration.
More impressive than the 16 point jump was the decrease from 23 percent to now just a mere 3 percent of people who “don’t know who she is.” Truly, this number should have never been as high as 23 and should still not be 3. I feel like people should at least somewhat have a clue who Melania Trump is, even prior to her husband’s presidency. But that’s just me.
Regardless, even with a select few who seem to be unaware that she exists, Melania still has approval from over half of the majority, and her 52 percent is higher than her husbands weekly average which is at 43 percent right now, according to Gallup.
Props to Melania, who even living outside the White House seems to be making a name for herself, even if the 3 percent don’t seem to think so.
This is how her first-year ratings thus far compare to prior first ladies:
